Days 5 - 6

On your final days in the city, take a final walk to witness fortress views that will provide memories for life, whilst enjoying the everyday luxuries of the city; from quiet cafes to boutqiue stores and

Wander the fortress walls of Akershus, a medieval citadel perched above Oslo’s harbour - once built for protection and at the same time as a royal residence slighlty outside the city. Then follow the waterfront promenade, a walk that offers views of Oslofjord that can be followed in its entirety for up to two and a half hours. The contrast of medieval builgins like Akershus Fortress and more modern structures of Aker Brygge and Tjuvholmen. Conte recommends walking the route at your own pace and enjoying a leisurely afternoon meal or drink before taking an evening to rest before your final day.

On your last day, find yourself in Grünerløkka, Oslo’s artistic enclave. Browse local design shops and sip coffee in cozy local spots in the hippest of Oslo's neighbourhoods. The area is also full of exciting eateries if your preference is to return later for a trendy dinner reservation - the perfect end to an exciting trip exploring Norway's capital city.

Days 2 - 4

On the next few days, enjoy the deeper, treasured history of the country. Vikings, visionaries, and an aptitude for discovery - Oslo’s personality rings true through their cultural history and artistic leacy, all wrapped in a quiet fortitude.

Your second day starts with a deep dive into history at the Viking Ship Museum, where carved prows rise from centuries of silt,  and you can trace the routes, ruins and burials of the Norwegian peoples forebears. With three of the best preserved Viking ships in the world, the museum itself is a force to be reckoned with and will likely take the full morning with a private historian. A few minutes walk away, tt the Fram Museum,  the country's longtime relationship with polar expeditions comes alive through exhibits, artefacts and multi-media pieces.

The following day, contrast history with emotion at the Munch Museum, where contemporary art and Edvard Munch's pieces in particular are heralded and admired in equal measures. A short walk away, the Oslo Opera House stands tall as one of Oslo's central attractions, its rooftop views a masterpiece in themselves. Of course, if interested, Conte can organise for a visit to one of the evening performances in a private box to ensure you capture the breadth of Oslo's cultural soul as well. The afternoon of your third day promises some much needed green space with Vigeland park, famously not intended to exist if it weren't for the city's decision to keep the artist's growing portfolio near his own studio, it's size having outgrown its previous placements - the open parkland it was placed in then accordingly became Vigeland park!
