Netherlands Luxury Travel: A Sample Itinerary

Days 1 - 3
"The Venice of the North", Amsterdam, offers summertime canal reflections and cultural gems within walking distance, where days succumb to hours spent flitting between museums, leafy parks, and evenings finished at late-night cafés.
Begin your Dutch journey in Amsterdam, the capital city of the Netherlands, and an institution of art, culture and deeply embedded history that flows as sharply as its picture-perfect canals. Start with a deep dive into Dutch artistry at the Rijksmuseum, home to masterpieces by the likes of Rembrandt van Rijn, Johannes Vermeer and Frans Hals, then glide through the city's waterways on a tranquil evening canal boat tour.
On Day 2, explore one of the most poignant sites in Europe: the Anne Frank House, before unwinding with a peaceful stroll through the Vondelpark. As night falls, soak in the buzz of Leidseplein, a hub of live music and vibrant nightlife. Day 3 brings a secondary dose of artistic inspiration at the Van Gogh Museum, followed by a wander through the leafy streets of the Jordaan and a cozy afternoon in one of the boutique cafés of the Nine Streets, where your time in Amsterdam will feel limitless and surreal.

Days 4 - 7
From windmills and fishing villages to Rotterdam’s architectural skyline and Kinderdijk’s 18th century windmills, these middle days of your journey narrate a country that balances modernity and tradition within the bounds of its strong identity.
Leave the capital for the countryside on the fourth day of your itinerary with a visit to Zaanse Schans, a living museum of historic windmills, wooden clogs, and Dutch cheese-making. Many of the traditional wooden fronted houses and windmills were relocated here to revive the experience of what living in the Netherlands in the 1850's may have felt like - a trip absolutely worth the thirty minute car journey. After your morning in the 19th century, head to Volendam, a traditional fishing village northeast of Amsterdam on Markermeer Lake, where colourful houses and local smoked eel sandwiches await.
Your fifth day shifts gears to Rotterdam, the Netherlands’ architecture capital. Rebuilt after being largely destoryed in World War II, this "Gateway to Europe" as it is known, has become a thriving centre for the arts, culture and of course, its architectural wonders. Discover the iconic Cube Houses, alongside constantly changing street art and the innovative exhibits of the Boijmans Van Beuningen Museum. Day 6 invites you to explore the Markthal’s culinary wonders - Markthal being the unique horseshoe-shaped covered market - take a scenic harbor cruise, and ascend the Euromast Tower for sweeping city views. Finally, on your seventh day in Rotterdam, journey to Kinderdijk, a UNESCO World Heritage site where 19 windmills stand tall and are best witnessed on foot or by bike.

Days 8 - 12
Golden Age masterpieces, coastal rides to pottery factories, and springtime weather paint the final stretch of your itinerary with an ever present reminder of the Netherlands' presence in our shared history.
In your final stretch of your journeuy through the Netherlands, Conte invites you to explore The Hague, where art and politics intersect. Admire Vermeer and Rembrandt at the Mauritshuis, including Vermeer's Girl with A Pearl Earring, then stroll under linden trees on the elegant Lange Voorhout. On the following day, enjoy the light-hearted nature ofMadurodam, a whimsical miniature city, or cycle to Scheveningen Beach for sea breezes and a coastal pause. After spending many days in cities like Amsterdam and Rotterdam, Conte often finds that building in pockets of relaxation helps to ensure an itinerary feels balanced.
Day 10 brings a journey to Delft, a town of narrow canals and blue-and-white ceramics. Visit the Royal Delft factory, explore Vermeer’s hometown, and wander through its storybook streets. In spring, Day 11 is reserved for a spectacular visit to Keukenhof Gardens, where seven million tulips burst into bloom - an unforgettable sea of color near Lisse. In other seasons, there are a plethora of activities to look into, or feel free to have a day at leisure exploring in a new destination or one you've visited so far. Conclude your trip on the twelth day with a relaxed return to Amsterdam for a final stroll past the Bloemenmarkt or a farewell lunch by the canals.
