Croatia Luxury Travel: A Sample Itinerary

Days 1 - 3
Where ancient city walls meet Game of Thrones fame, Dubrovnik offers medieval history, Adriatic views, and the perfect introduction to Croatia's coastal magic.
Begin your Croatian adventure in Dubrovnik, the "Pearl of the Adriatic," where limestone streets and baroque buildings create one of Europe's most stunning medieval cities. Start with a walk around the famous city walls - a nearly 2-kilometer circuit that offers incredible views over the terracotta rooftops and the impossibly blue Adriatic Sea. Game of Thrones fans will recognize many locations, from the Red Keep to the streets of King's Landing, and you can join a themed tour or simply enjoy spotting the locations yourself.
Your second day takes you deeper into the Old Town's treasures: visit the impressive Rector's Palace, climb the bell tower of Dubrovnik Cathedral, and explore the fascinating Pharmacy Museum in the Franciscan Monastery, which houses one of Europe's oldest working pharmacies. Take the cable car up Mount Srđ for sunset views that stretch across the islands and coastline. Day three offers a boat trip to the nearby Elaphiti Islands, where you can swim in crystal-clear waters and enjoy fresh seafood on the island of Lopud, away from the Old Town crowds. Your fourth day in Dubrovnik includes a visit to the impressive Dubrovnik walls museum, followed by time to explore the quieter residential areas beyond the tourist center, where local life continues much as it has for centuries.

Days 4 - 7
From lavender fields to yacht-filled harbours, Hvar combines natural beauty with sophisticated nightlife and some of Croatia's finest wines.
The second chapter of your Croatian journey takes you to Hvar Island by ferry for an exploration of the laid-back atmosphere, relaxation and beaches that the country is known for. Hvar Town welcomes you with its Venetian architecture and one of Croatia's most beautiful main squares, dominated by the impressive St. Stephen's Cathedral. Spend your first afternoon exploring the narrow stone streets and browsing the local shops selling lavender products and local wines.
Once settled in, day six takes you into Hvar's countryside, where you'll visit family-owned wineries producing excellent whites from the indigenous Pošip grape and robust reds from Plavac Mali. Day seven offers beach time at some of Croatia's most beautiful coves: take a boat to the nearby Pakleni Islands, where secluded beaches and crystal-clear water provide the perfect setting for swimming and snorkeling. Your final day on Hvar includes a visit to Stari Grad, the island's oldest settlement and a UNESCO World Heritage site, where ancient Greek field boundaries still divide the landscape and traditional stone houses line the quiet harbour.

Days 8 - 12
Where Italian influences meet Croatian hospitality, Istria offers hilltop medieval towns, world-class wines, and truffle-hunting adventures in a landscape that feels like rural Tuscany.
Travel north to the Istrian Peninsula, Croatia's heart-shaped region where Venetian bell towers rise from hilltop towns and vineyards stretch toward the sea. Base yourself in or around Rovinj, often called the most romantic town in Croatia, where colourful houses cluster around a Venetian harbour and the Church of St. Euphemia dominates the skyline. Spend your first day exploring Rovinj's cobblestone streets, art galleries, and waterfront cafes, then take a boat trip to the nearby Red Island for swimming and relaxation.
Day ten ventures inland to the medieval hilltop town of Motovun, perched dramatically above the Mirna River valley and surrounded by truffle-rich forests. Join a truffle hunting experience with local hunters and their dogs, followed by a tasting of these prized fungi paired with Istrian wines. The next day visit Pula, where the remarkably preserved Roman amphitheater still hosts concerts and events, and the historic center reveals layers of Roman, Venetian, and Austro-Hungarian architecture. Your final day in Istria focuses on relaxation and final tastings: visit a boutique winery in the Buje area, known for producing some of Croatia's most acclaimed wines, then end with a farewell dinner at a konoba (traditional tavern) where locally sourced ingredients and family recipes create the perfect ending to your Croatian adventure.
