Crossing the Drake Passage

Crossing the Drake Passage is a voyage into one of Earth’s last true frontiers. Departing from Ushuaia, the southern tip of Argentina, ships head through the Beagle Channel before entering the open waters between South America and Antarctica. Known for its unpredictable seas, the Drake can be calm and glassy or alive with towering swells - earning its reputation as both the “Drake Lake” and the “Drake Shake.”

As you sail south, albatross and petrels glide effortlessly above the waves, and the vastness of the Southern Ocean becomes humbling. Onboard, time slows. Travellers attend lectures, scan the horizon for icebergs, and brace themselves for the first glimpse of the Antarctic Peninsula.

Ice Fishing

Ice fishing in Norway offers a serene and authentic way to experience the Arctic wilderness. Regions like Tromsø, Alta, and Finnmark in northern Norway become a winter wonderland, where frozen lakes and rivers become the perfect places for ice fishing. Local guides lead you to popular fishing spots where you can catch Arctic char, perch, or even trout, all while surrounded by stunning snow-capped mountains and endless winter landscapes.

After a long day out on the ice, you can retreat to a cozy cabin for warmth and local Norwegian delicacies, like reindeer stew or freshly caught fish. The chance to see the Northern Lights dancing above as you fish in the silence of the Arctic night makes for an unforgettable adventure.

Artic Treehouse

The Arctic TreeHouse Hotel in Rovaniemi, Finland, offers a one-of-a-kind escape in the heart of the Arctic Circle. Nestled among the towering pines, the hotel’s luxurious, glass-walled suites offer panoramic views of the snow-covered forest, where guests can often spot the Northern Lights dancing across the sky.

Beyond the hotel’s comfort, the region offers a wide range of unique Arctic experiences. For adventure seekers, you can try snowmobiling, dog sledding, or reindeer safaris through the snow-covered forests. In winter, ice fishing and skiing are also popular activities. The surrounding landscapes, with their quiet beauty and untouched nature, offer a perfect setting for reflection and outdoor adventure, making your stay unforgettable.
